Terms & Conditions

When you register, pay in full, or enter into a payment agreement to join STAR, you are agreeing to all of the following terms, as indicated by the checkbox you check on the checkout page.

Refund Policy

You can get a 100% refund of your investment until 14 days after your scheduled STAR Orientation begins, as long as you "do the work."

What does "do the work" mean? You must either have participated in live classes or watched all released recordings of live events, watched all corresponding video modules, and completed any relevant assignments before requesting your refund.

Why do you have to show that you've participated? We believe STAR is the BEST way for you to learn how to market yourself authentically in the entertainment industry as a performer, and it gives you tools that help you move toward your dreams with confidence, but it only works if you do the work.

After you've registered, if you decide you're too busy to participate live or have a conflict come up so you can't "do the work," in certain situations, we may approve you using your credit from STAR for other Shine programs or to roll to the next available STAR, but you will not be approved for a refund.

If you decide not to or can't participate in the STAR Program Session for which you originally enrolled, and, for some unforeseeable reason, there are no additional opportunities to participate in the STAR Program, you are due no refund.

Statement of Understanding

You understand you're enrolling in the Shine Talent Accelerator & Review (from now on known as ‘STAR’)– Shine's signature program, which includes education, mentorship, coaching, community, and the chance for callbacks and contract offers.

You understand Shine does NOT promise or guarantee your results, including bookings, jobs, or representation– Shine is an education, coaching, and consulting company, NOT a talent agency, management company, or casting company (though we know many of each).

No refunds are due to you in the event of your failure to attend or participate.

Payment/Installment Plan Terms

If you've decided to pay in installments, you will pay your tuition as detailed in the installment plan when you registered. You understand the installment plan is extended to you as a courtesy, and you agree to make all scheduled payments, including those occurring after your program's completion.

Behavioral Agreement

You commit to the following statements to the best of your ability:

  • You'll give STAR your full effort because that's how you'll get the most from it (and everything you do).
  • You'll maintain a polite, positive, and coachable attitude.
  • You'll be kind and supportive of all other performers in STAR and Shine.
  • You'kl attend all live sessions possible and be on time.
  • You'll promptly watch recordings of your missed sessions before the next concurrent session.
  • If possible, you will participate in self-study assignments on time– in the week they’re assigned.
  • If you can’t attend a session or do an assignment, you will let Shine know so they can help me arrange to stay current.
  • If you need extra help or time, you'll let Shine know.

“Roll” Policies


A “roll” is defined as moving to the next scheduled WOW or postponing your participation in STAR coaching temporarily.

If the Shine Team feels you have not progressed enough in STAR to make a good impression on the VIPs during the WOW, rarely, we may request that you roll to the next scheduled WOW.

This only happens if the Shine team feels it will be detrimental for you to participate, usually because you’ve not attended enough classes and/or watched the recorded lessons plus completed the accompanying assignments to be seen by and interact with VIPs at an appropriately readu level, as determined by reviewing your VIP review material submissions (videotapes and headshots) and your participation in the interview/VIP interaction portions of STAR.

If you cannot actively participate in STAR, you may request to pause your remaining coaching until the next scheduled session. Shine may approve this request at our discretion. If you are on an installment plan, payments will continue as scheduled during the pause period.

Once the pause ends, you may complete any remaining coaching and participate in the next scheduled WOW if included in your package. 

If you are still unable to complete STAR, you remain responsible for the full agreed-upon tuition, and no refunds will be issued. Shine will notify you when it is time to re-enter STAR. If you fail to respond to Shine’s communications at this time, no refunds or additional roll opportunities will be provided.

In the extremely unlikely event that the next STAR session or WOW cannot occur due to circumstances beyond Shine’s control–no refunds or credits will be issued. However, Shine will make reasonable efforts to offer alternatives that provide similar educational and professional benefits.


If you decide to roll within 4 weeks before the start of the WOW, we may add up to a $500 roll fee to your account. By this time, all VIP Reviewers and Guest Speakers have been invited, and the costs for the event have been set.

Office Hours

All communication, including but not limited to 1-on-1 coaching calls and customer support, will be conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). No communication is to be expected or guaranteed outside of these times. Shine may occasionally communicate with you outside of these times.

Group coaching or meetings typically happen 5 pm - 9 pm ET Monday through Friday or 10 am - 2 pm ET on Saturdays.

No Guaranteed Outcomes

You understand that group coaching and service outcomes can be subjective and vary greatly depending on individual circumstances and effort invested in the coaching and services process. Joining STAR or any Shine class or program does not guarantee that you will take any specific action nor offer any guarantee of success.

As such, you understand that Shine makes no guarantee, representation, or warranty of any nature or kind that this coaching and services program will be effective or will result in any particular outcome. You agree that you will not hold Shine responsible, in whole or in part, for any result that you do or do not achieve.

Shine’s Right To Reschedule

You acknowledge that Shine has the full right to reschedule any previously scheduled events due to circumstances out of their control, including COVID-related restrictions, illness, or acts of God. No refunds will be given for any reschedules or delays.

Shine's Right To Adjust Turnaround Time

You acknowledge that while Shine is dedicated to rapid turnaround times for deliverables and feedback, they have the full right to adjust any previously promised turnaround times for services due to circumstances out of their control, including COVID-related restrictions or acts of God. No refunds will be given for any delays.

Waiver and Release of Liability

On your own behalf and on behalf of your heirs, next of kin, family members, estate, beneficiaries, executors, administrators, and representatives, you hereby WAIVE, RELEASE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE Shine in its capacity, and each of Shine's Authorized Coaches and principles, shareholders, officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, beneficiaries and assigns (collectively, “Shine”) from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, and cases of action of any nature or kind that you have or may in the future have arising out of or in connection with your participation in this group coaching and services program or any educational programs or services or any advice, information, suggestion, or recommendation that you receive in connection therewith, whether such claims arise from breach of any duty imposed by law, mistake or error in judgment, or from any other cause, and whether such claims are known or unknown, or suspected or unsuspected (all such claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages and causes of action are referred to collectively herein as the “Released Claims”).

Agreement Not To Sue

In addition, on your own behalf and on behalf of your heirs, next of kin, family members, estate, beneficiaries, executors, administrators, and representatives, you covenant and agree that (i) you will not institute or attempt to institute any legal action, arbitration, demand or proceeding against any member of Shine based upon any Released Claim, and (ii) you will indemnify, defend and hold harmless Shine and each of them from and against any losses, claims, liabilities, expenses or damages, including attorney’s fees and costs, incurred in connection with the defense of any Released Claim or any other breach of your obligations under this Agreement.

Intellectual Property

To honor and protect Shine’s intellectual property, you agree not to disclose, reproduce, or distribute this group coaching and services the program’s materials, techniques, or methods to any third party without Shine’s prior written consent. You understand that United States intellectual property laws protect Shine's materials, and you agree not to copy, reproduce, or distribute any such materials for any reason without Shine's prior written consent.

Length and Scope of This Agreement

You understand that the terms of this Agreement shall survive the termination of any coaching and services engagement.

Grounds For Release

At any time, Shine may release you from our programs with written notice by email if you do not honor the terms as written above. You'll still be responsible for a pro-rated amount of tuition for the number of weeks out of the total in your program that have already passed when you're released, and no refunds will be due.
